I liked Michael, I liked Luke, I liked Meredith, I also like the premise of this book, so why am I rating it 2 stars? Well 40% of the beginning of this book was either Luke or Meredith thinking about each other and how hot they were (and not wanting to), then once they got together there was another 40% of was them thinking about how badly they wanted one another, how hot they were, what they looked like in their clothes, making suggestive sexual jesters while eating and on and on. It got extremely tedious.Don’t get me wrong, I love reading romance, but this was just over the top: I was so tired of reading this again and again the story was basically static thought-out. I actually made through the entire book but it took me a long time. I kept putting down because Kathryn Shay chose not to move the book along by having extremely little happen in between these tirades of much they wanted one another. You know, the readers got it and were happy they were together, but we didn't want to only read about how hot they were to each other. It was extremely repetitious and very little story outside of the couple’s desire for one another. Michael is a teenage boy that had lost his other to death 3 years prior to the beginning of the story. He was adopted at birth by Sara & Luke, and has been a model son. Against his better idea, Luke has agreed thatMichael can meet his birth mother, and the story begins. Enter Meredith Hunter. Over many & varied meetings a relationship develops, Luke must battle both his jealousy of what is growing between them and deal with the emotional attachment that is growing between he and Meredith.The loves scenes between Luke and Meredith are perfect. Gentle, slow, building to powerful and extremely satisfying and exciting conclusions.The situations that Michael has to deal with asa teenage athlete were also right on the money. Full of the superior action required of a really good high school player, combined with the angst of the peer pressure from his friends.Saying that this was a great read is too trite of a phrase. This is simply a REALLY good, Feel-Good Novel. Looking back, I enjoyed the entire ride, even though I ached with the characters as they were hurting along their path.
